The worn elegance of the buildings at the Chateau Margaux vineyard estate beckoned me closer. Each stone street I walked down, through the maze of the buildings, had me peering around a corner at a piece of history. Ghosts from the past came to life as I imagined the sights and sounds of the grapes being harvested and everyone scurrying to their next task. The stillness of that day was magical. The essence of the estate could be felt in the bones of the architecture.
