It was my first week in Bali and I had been awake for hours in anticipation. It had started with the crowing of the roosters and the barking of the dogs. It was their lyrical applause for a morning that would burst with vibrancy. As the sun crowned at the edge of the horizon, the clouds gathered in wait. The triumphal burst of color outlining the exotic silhouettes reminded me that I had dared to find my piece of heaven and I had triumphed!
